Software & File Organizing

If you do not have a DropBox account, you are missing out on an excellent system for storing and syncing files. This cloud-based file hosting system works great for keeping certain files easily accessible via your work and home computers, as well as from your phone or tablet. I have the DropBox app installed on my iPhone, on my iPad, and on my work and home computers. When I want to transfer files between devices, I just drag and drop them into my DropBox folder and they’re automatically synced! It’s so much quicker than emailing files to myself and then downloading those attachments on another device. You can share specific files or folders within your DropBox with specific people, which is very useful when I want to share a high resolution image file with a customer.

Art Supplies

My favorite places to shop for art supplies are Cheap Joes, Dick Blick, Plaza Art, and of course Amazon.  In fact, I am such a regular Amazon shopper that I decided to create an affiliate Blue Jay Bay storefront there, where you can browse the various supplies I enjoy using. If you decide to purchase anything, it doesn’t cost you any extra, but it will give me a tiny referral commission (so thank you!).

Watercolor Supplies

I am partial to Winsor & Newton professional artist watercolor paints, and I have a few tubes of watercolor paint by Daniel Smith.

My favorite palette is a Martin Mijello 18 well palette with an airtight lid. I have used it in my home studio and on the go, and it has never leaked or busted open!

My preferred watercolor paper is Arches 140 lb cold press, but I have a variety of more economical watercolor papers by Strathmore and Canson to use when playing around with supplies and ideas.
