This Mazatlan, Mexico watercolor map is the newest painting design in my watercolor map series of Places You Love – check out the series!
Mazatlan is a Pacific coast city in Mexico, located across from the southernmost tip of the Baja California Peninsula. The region was settled in 1531. Mazatlan is a popular tourist destination for both Mexicans and international travelers, with many beach side resorts and coastal attractions.
This is my artsy + abstract watercolor map painting of the Mazatlan region. It was created by defining positive and negative values within the land masses, and painting the result using one of my color schemes. I took particular care in defining the coastline, marinas, and inlets of Mazatlan. This map was a gift for relatives who live in Mazatlan, and I chose to paint it using my Turquoise-Ultramarine color scheme.
Every time I paint this map, it will be a ONE OF A KIND piece of art, because I am painting it with a combination of two different watercolor paints, which will mix in different ways each time. This painting would be a special keepsake or gift for wedding parties, vacationers, residents, and the like! I offer it in 8×10″ size in portrait orientation, with an optional mat (suitable for an 11×14″ frame).
If desired, you can personalize the painting by requesting a dot or other symbol at a specific location on the map. I can paint that as a contrasting color of your choice. In addition, I can add the latitude and longitude or other personalized text in the map title.
